Flipped learning is a methodology that helps teachers to prioritize active learning during class time by assigning students lecture, materials and presentations to be viewed at home or outside of class intending to up bring the level of understanding and remembering at home. The basic concepts of the subject matter are considered to have learned at home by the students in flipped classroom. It is a “pedagogical approach in which direct instruction moves from the group learning space to the individual learning space resulting group learning space as a dynamic, interactive learning in the classroom.”

The inception of flipped classroom dates back to 2007 AD in Colorado, USA. Then, it spread to major educational hubs in the world. Flipping a classroom is the reverse form of traditional approach in teaching where the students are made familiar with the concept at home by providing the materials via different means to the students beforehand the real class begins and followed by the active classroom activities by the next day. ICT with internet and online learning platforms are the baseline prerequisite to apply the concept of flipped classroom.

The school has institutionalized the concept of flipped classroom by creating the comfortable online platforms where the teachers are uploading the contextual reference matters such as videos, write up, links, rubrics, syllabus, PPT etc. from their smart classroom so that the students can understand the basic concept of the lessons earlier than real teaching in classrooms. The seeking of paradigm shift is considerably influenced by the envision of bringing the world in the classroom with invention and creativity. As we state classroom is our strength, we level best try to bring discovery in the class. The flipped classroom has four major cornerstones: flexible environment, learning culture, intentional Global Partnership content and professional educator.
